IBM's WebSphere RFID Information Center was certified as fully compliant with its EPCIS standard. The company also introduced support for a newly ratified reader interface open standard and reported that eight device manufacturers have implemented the Eclipse open source device model to interface their devices with the IBM Premises Server 6.0.

Installing Audacity MP3 export support on Linux
Audacity is a very good free and open source audio editing application for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.
Unfortunately, due to patent restrictions, it is unable to import, export and manipulate MP3 files in the default install and this problem is usually present in the Linux version.

The Register reports today that eBay’s new chief information security officer (CISO) has noted a surprising trend (”eBay: Botnets are Linux-happy“). Specifically, in his previous employment as the CISO of Washington Mutual, evidence suggested that the majority of phishing attempts targeting the company originated on Linux systems.
