WINE (acronym of Windows Is Not Emulated) is a software whose objective is that one to make to turn Windows programs in GNU/Linux atmosphere without no emulazione, but “intercepting” the calls that the program makes to the operating system (Microsoft Windows) and transforming them in relative the GNU/Linux. I first started tinkering with Linux about 4 or 5 years ago. My first distribution was Mandrake. Depressed, and almost giving up, I came across MEPIS. I gave it one more shot....and I was hooked!

Dolphin was intended to replace Konqueror as the default file manager in KDE 4. The scope of Dolphin was to only provide a compact and easy-to-use file manager, without all the features and uses Konqueror has. And (I think) it succeeded. In the beginning most of the users were reticent regarding this idea, since Konqueror provided anything one could possibly ask from a file manager.

Ubuntu 9.04 is the upcoming version of the Ubuntu operating system. The common name given to this release from the time of its early development was “Jaunty Jackalope”.

On March 26 Ubuntu 9.04 Beta was released. I installed it on my main desktop system as soon as it was available, so I've been running it for a few days now. If you're interested in trying out this beta release, remember that it's intended for testing and not mission-critical systems. The release candidate is coming on April 16, and the final on April 23.

With each new release of Ubuntu the Open Source Linux Distribution based on Debian gets better and better. In this latest beta version of the upcoming 9.04 release dubbed “Jaunty Jackalope” they continue to build on the polish of previous releases.

TV-Browser is a simple Digital TV Guide that supports more than 500 TV channels and 80 Radio stations. TV-Browser collects TV program information from different sources on the internet and presents it neatly as a Digital TV Guide with pictures where there possible (if there are no copyright issues).

Now we're driving hard towards completing CrossOver 8.0. We've done a ton of work that is going into CrossOver 8; we've got Internet Explorer 7 running, and we're working on 8. We've got a huge number of fixes for Microsoft Office, notably Outlook. And most importantly, we've got Quicken 2009 working along nicely.
