Torvalds describes this as "the kind of 'head up the arse' behavior of gnome3" and says he has switched: "I'm using Xfce. I think it's a step down from gnome2, but it's a huge step up from gnome3. Really."

Pardus 2009.1 review
Pardus is a Linux, desktop-oriented operating system developed by Onur Küçük and his team from Turkey. At a time when nearly every new Linux distro is based on or derived from Ubuntu, Pardus is a rarity. It is an original, not based on or derived from any other distro. As such, its package manager and graphical management tools are custom-developed.

KDE at Ontario Linux Fest
What a day it was! So many people are curious about KDE4, and KDE in general. So many are eager to give it a[nother] shot. My throat hurts from all the explaining, demonstrating, screaming and laughing.

KDE4 overtaking GNOME in terms of usability?
Whereas GNOME so far made sacrifices to flexibility and power in order to improve usability KDE4 is succeeding in having its cake and eating it too. Yakuake - Great Quake-Like Terminal Application for KDE4
Yakuake is a Quake-like terminal, which means it behaves just like any console in Quake or usual first-person shooter games. It supports global keybindings and can be invoked with F12 and hided with the same keyboard shortcut when you finished your job with it. This way it will run in background but it won't eat your taskbar or system tray space.

Things I like about KDE4.
There's been quite a bit of hubub about the KDE project ever since the 4.0 release. Critics have slammed the 4.0 series repeatedly. Between the poor publicity, the crashes in Plasma, and the still-developing early features, KDE was definitely not having a good time. However, for all the bad rap that the 4.0 series received, KDE has grown wonderfully.
