T-DOSE is a free and yearly event held in The Netherlands to promote use and development of Open Source Software. During this event Open Source projects, developers and visitors can exchange ideas and knowledge. This years event will be held on 3 and 4 October 2009 at the Fontys University of Applied Science in Eindhoven.

So I'd like to sum up what most people walk into when trying Linux. Note: This is written out of the viewpoint of a regular user that wants to try Linux. Not from "our" viewpoints.

Collaboration is awesome: the Kongoni hackfest report
"So, Saturday was the grand Kongoni hackfest. We had about 5 people on-site and a bunch more online, and people were hacking code. It was quite an event, one of those extra hot Cape Town days with a bunch of people (interestingly – men and women in roughly equal amounts) sitting around a coffee table with their laptops and hacking on code files – it just worked, beautifully..."

Frankly, I'd prefer to work with a book or in a classroom setting. I can read faster than a person can speak in a video. OK, that contradicts my preference for the classroom, but in a class context, I can also directly interact with the instructor and the students. I can't exactly do that using a video.
