I might as well just stop blogging right now, because it might be over. I've found the perfect distro for me, and it was right under my nose the whole time. I'm writing this from Mandriva 2008, and so far, I don't see any reason to look beyond it (at least, for me to look beyond it) for a main distro.

Installing Audacity MP3 export support on Linux
Audacity is a very good free and open source audio editing application for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.
Unfortunately, due to patent restrictions, it is unable to import, export and manipulate MP3 files in the default install and this problem is usually present in the Linux version.

Yesterday I decided to take the ultimate test of my badly mangled edgy Linux installation. Instead of the tried and true reformat and reload method I wanted to try the distribution upgrade that the automatic update kept on nagging me about.
