Once upon a time, I wrote a series of articles about the various Linux distributions that exist on the Internet. At that time, I had tried, and condemned a distribution known as Gentoo. I gave it very low marks for just about everything I used as a means of rating Linus distros.

Announcing the Ultima Linux 8.3 release!
"I'm not even going to pretend to write all this marketing rubbish, because quite honestly I'm not much good at it and it's a senseless waste of time. Really there's no point anyway, on the surface there's really nothing new - most of the changes are upgrades and kind of "under the hood" (kernel 2.6.23.12, KDE 3.5.8, Firefox 2.0.0.11, Thunderbird 2.0.0.9, OpenOffice.org 2.3.1), although you will probably see some really nice new wallpaper images in KDE..."

Caution - 180 Degree Turnaround Ahead
That was my initial assessment. Look...I am past the honeymoon stage as a Linux User. I've seen it early in the morning before its had its coffee. I've stood too close to it before the morning tooth-brushing has taken place. I've even had my hands in parts of it that most people never need or want to see. Why I Won't Use KMail or Kontact
KDE 4 is scheduled to be released soon, and it looks like it has a lot of cool new features. Unfortunately, everything I've seen about it says that it's still going to be missing an important feature that many computer users (especially Windows converts to Linux) have come to expect — apparently because a few developers don't like or use that feature.

Flock: The browser that makes browsing obsolete
The way we use the internet is changing. As well as using the web to buy books, clothes and CDs, download music, auction junk on eBay, book a holiday, and find out what's going on in the world, we're increasingly using it to form networks and connections and share our thoughts and media with the rest of the world.
