KDE 4 is scheduled to be released soon, and it looks like it has a lot of cool new features. Unfortunately, everything I've seen about it says that it's still going to be missing an important feature that many computer users (especially Windows converts to Linux) have come to expect — apparently because a few developers don't like or use that feature.

A computer program will do only what the programmer designed it to do. If your program is not working to your specifications, it should be changed. Ideally, the user would know how to program so that they can help themself. Unfortunately not everyone has adequate programming skills or time to develop a solution. Fortunately, there are other people that do - they are known as computer programmers; for some payment, they will modify or create computer programs that meet the user's requirements.

So what about the KDE Developers? Shouldn't they fix this request? Yes and no. If the KDE developers care about the Open Source development method, they should fix it - the rhetoric of Open Source is that you use the community to help for the purposes of creating a superior software solution. If the KDE developers don't care about Open Source, whatever they do is their own business as they have little obligation towards the user. If the developers are getting paid to code, that would be a different matter.
