Some people want better statistics about how many GNU/Linux users there are. Some suggest a kind of phone-home function (horror!). A better approach would be to get deliberately counted. That is what counter.li.org is for.
The exact number will never be known and that is good.

Hercules releases GPL MIDI drivers for Linux & GPL DJ Software Mixxx 1.6.1+Herc is released.
On Feb 16, 2009 Hercules released GPL Linux MIDI drivers for their DJ Console / DJ Control series of MIDI input controllers ( Mk2, RMX, MP3 Control, DJ Control Steel ).
Yesterday, the Mixxx open source DJ team released Mixxx 1.6.1+Herc for Linux, as well as control mapping update packs for Windows and OSX.

Bordeaux 1.6 Released with improved Application support
Steven Edwards of the Bordeaux Technology Group released Bordeaux 1.6 today. Bordeaux 1.6 comes with added support for Google's Chrome Web Browser, Google Earth, Google Picasa, Trillian and Apple's Safari Web Browser. Additionally, Cellar support has improved; you can now delete and install into an existing Cellar. IE6 now installs java, shockwave and latest flash.
