Well I simply love KDE4 but one thing that really annoyed me was the way firefox looked in KDE4 and so after googling a bit I found some simple solutions to make firefox look more Kde4ish.

This coming Thursday is Thanksgiving in America. As I have yet to make any progress in convincing the Swiss to also make it a holiday, and we tend to have rather large Thanksgiving dinner gatherings, we generally have our celebration the weekend before or after the actual day.

Over the past few weeks we have been providing several in-depth articles looking at the performance of Ubuntu Linux.

There are a couple of others (Konqueror, Epiphany), but the primary open source browser that you’re likely to be using on Linux is Firefox. Now don’t get me wrong, Firefox is great for a lot of things. It is endlessly customisable and has ubiquitous support from website developers. It does have disadvantages too, however, including not exactly being the quickest beast out there.

Today the Amarok project releases Narwhal, the release candidate of the upcoming Amarok 2.0.

The changes since Beta 3 focus mostly on fixing bugs, as we are in a fairly hard feature-freeze to give us time to polish the final product. However, this didn’t stop us from adding a few nice new things.

And remember, the new Amarok 2.0 RC 1 works on Windows and MacOS too.

If you’ve just started using Linux, you’ve probably noticed an interesting phenomenon. You’ve entered a group of rugged individualists, non-conformists, people who know how to pull things apart and put them back together, people who don’t like being spoon fed. There’s plenty about Linux and the various desktops and applications in open source that’s easy and fun to use.
