I love to use Linux distro (particularly ubuntu). So I chose to learn cinelerra and I discovered that, over first impression, it's a software very easy to use. The envy of the "Windows users" is priceless.

WengoPhone Firefox Extension For GNU/Linux Alpha Testing Instructions

http://www.openwengo.org

"At last, you can download and use an alpha WengoPhone Firefox extension for GNU/Linux. It has been flagged alpha because, as you may know, GNU/Linux systems are very different from each others, so it's difficult to provide a WengoPhone Firefox extension that works blissfully on most of them. We'd like, by publishing this alpha version, to test WengoPhone Firefox extension for GNU/Linux on the largest number of different GNU/Linux distributions. For this, we'd be pleased that you follow the small set of instructions below, it will greatly help us to publish a stable and robust version soon! ..."

GobbleRSS scoops up headlines, online or off

http://www.linux.com

I read lots of blogs and planets every day, and do so from multiple computers, so I value the online feed aggregator. It retrieves new items even while I'm offline, and I don't have to synchronize between multiple machines. Google Reader has filled this niche for a while now, but I've kept an eye out for open source equivalents that I could serve from my own domain instead. That is just what GobbleRSS is: a PHP-based feed aggregator that is simple to set up and run on your own.

Vector Linux 5.9 review

http://www.techiemoe.com

I've been impressed with Vector Linux in the past, though strangely moreso with their free version than the paid edition. They've generally offered a nice low-power alternative for older boxes and those of us with newer boxes who just like efficiency. I was interested to see what (if anything) had changed since the last time I looked at it.

I have installed KDE 4 on OpenSUSE 10.3. Today morning, I fired up YAST and found that there was an update available. The KDE4 packages now have version 4.0.X instead of the previous 3.97.X. If its available in YAST that means that KDE team has released the KDE 4.0 final source and OpenSUSE team is quick enough to package them.
