I recently purchased an HTC Magic, my first device running Android, Google's Linux-based mobile operating system. Although there are a lot of things I like about Android, I also quickly realized that there are also a lot of things that either require urgent improvement or are going wrong altogether. It seems like just yesterday KDE 4.0 was released, and caused quite a bit of commotion in the free software world. It was bold, ambitious, and (for the most part) broken. he latest iteration of the K Desktop has just arrived in version 4.4, and while it’s still not perfect, it’s another step closer.
