Currently at version 0.7.1, Brasero impresses with a simple layout and an intuitive interface. The left panel contains a file browser from which you can select the files/folders which you want on your CD, and in the right panel you can visualize what files are to be written. Of course, for ease of use, you can drag and drop files from the file browser to the right panel.

Roy's pieces at boycottnovell.com seem to flow from his presumed indisputable inference that the motivations of not only Microsoft, but also anyone who collaborates with Microsoft, are sinister in nature. and he's repeatedly making these near-libelous statements, which boycottnovell.com is enabling, and this is the reason I'm boycotting them in addition to boycotting Novell.

I think that everybody knows what Microsoft's goal is. It is the same answer that Brain gives to Pinky every night. I think that everybody knows what Apple's goal is, if you don't have an isomething then you are just not cool. That company makes it hip to be square (who is the artist of that song?). But how many people know what Linux's goal is?

Mobile devices in GNU/Linux and GNOME
You have a computer (a laptop or a desktop). Since it’s a machine you use often and don’t tinker with much, it probably runs Ubuntu Linux. Or, maybe, another distribution (like Mandriva 2008). If it doesn’t run GNU/Linux, I hope you’re at least using BSD. If not, stop reading right now!

Open source vs. proprietary? Turn the question around!
The non-technical public will care very little about access to the source, not realising what degree of freedom this guarantees to them, even if they never look at the source themselves. Same with open data standards. Why change or even care if all the world seems to use the same 'standard' of some proprietary software package, right?
