Don’t Use Zypper to Upgrade OpenSuse
Somehow zypper decided that my computer would function just fine without supporting the harddrive (RAID0) but I was forced to disagree with this point when my computer became unbootable. Luckily the installation DVD (after finally downloading) was able to fix the problem.

The "Microsofting" of Linux
While we love to hammer at proprietary companies like Microsoft for "dumbing down" the interaction for users, it's something of a shock when we realize that some Linux distros are doing the exact same thing.

Some Emacs news
"This week's emacs-snapshot release (20090118-1) reached a new milestone with more than 700 downloads in just under a week. I guess this is quite an achievement considering that not everyone wants to download 25MB of Emacs packages on a weekly basis, so thanks to all my users for their continued trust and support! ..."

Corporations are idiots!!!
Everybody has his/her own reason for using Free Software. Unfortunately, my favorite reason seems to be among the most “FUDed” by proprietary software companies. (Behind “Lowering the TCO”) I personally believe the most important aspect of Free Software is the advancement of society.

Migration from Microsoft to Linux - O, the Joy
So I finally made the plunge. I've long wanted to be part of that geeky elite who broke from the crowd, stepped aside from their fellow computer lemmings and took a different plunge - not off the cliff, but into an alien and poorly understood (by the masses) computer operating system - Unix.

Microsoft Deserves Some Credit for Reaching Out to Moonlight
Whatever you might want to say about Microsoft calling Silverlight "crossplatform" and not making a version for Linux, you have to give them credit for what they did leading up to Obama's inauguraiton.
