This morning, I booted up my laptop and tried to connect to the school's wireless when I noticed that the icon for Network Manager was missing from the toolbar. I checked to see that Network Manager was running and it was, the icon had just disappeared for some reason.

KDE 4.4 Release Candidate 1 Available
KDE has made the first release candidate of the KDE Software Compilation 4.4 available. The first KDE SC release (albeit not a stable one) is the first release candidate for the upcoming KDE Software Compilation 4.4.0 which will be released on February 9th.

openSUSE 11.2 Gnome edition - Fantastic
I'm such a plonker. I've only recently realized that all these years, I've never tried openSUSE with the Gnome desktop. And having just done that, I must say I regret the omission oh so badly, because openSUSE 11.2 with Gnome is simply fabulous. Even more so than the KDE edition.

I'm sure we have all seen error or fail messages while ubuntu is starting (server or desktop version). Because Ubuntu really loads fast sometimes we don't have enough time to actually read what module fail to load or what is causing errors.
