Thunderbird and Lightning (very, very frightening ... or not so much) in Ubuntu
Here's my problem. I need a calendar app that rudely beeps to tell me when to go to meetings and such. In Ubuntu, that means the Evolution mail client, which has an extensive calendar function, or so I'm told. But I don't run Evolution. I use Thunderbird to manage my mail, and Thunderbird doesn't have a calendar function ... or does it?

I have this computer. It came with windows xp pre-installed. I formatted it and installed CentOS Linux for some tests. The computer was then needed for an employee so we put windows xp back on. Wine 1.1.33 Released
The Wine development release 1.1.33 is now available. The source is available now, Binary packages are in the process of being built, and will appear soon at their respective download locations.
What's new in this release:
* Gecko now installed at wineprefix creation time.
* Better support for certificates in crypt32.
* Improved sound support in mciwave.
Mandriva One 2010.0 (including Moblin UI)
If you have had trouble with the new Ubuntu 9.10 distribution, or you are a bit reluctant about it because of the numerous reports of problems circulating... or even if you are just becoming uneasy about the direction that Canonical is moving, then this could be a very good time to take a look at Mandriva Linux.
