I hate using proprietary software
I hate using proprietary software but a lot of my family overseas only use Skype and try as I might they won't switch to free software alternatives. So I have to use it to stay in touch.
Besides I think it's good that (proprietary) companies are supporting GNU/Linux too. It shows they recognize it is important.

What if we don't want to use GNU/Linux?
What if we don't want to use GNU/Linux? What if we want to use Syllable? What about OpenSolaris? What about Hurd? What about Plan 9? Without the right to tinker with the code, we remain dependant upon the owner of the software.

I know. And we would have had GNU/Linux
I know. And we would have had GNU/Linux video support months ago if they had opened up the code. With the user base they already have they would be very unlikely to lose money.
