The guru you seek in times of computer trouble started out just as you did, with no formal training in the Linux operating system or software. How, then, does the guru manage to tame the information wilderness of the computer? Why is it that he or she knows what you don't?

This article is a response to an article posted on daniweb.com, by Ken Hess. What prompted Ken to write his original piece was an article somewhere, written supposedly by a Linux guru, but falling short of Ken's expectation

The Linux Foundation, the non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting Linux, has announced the top five 2010 Linux.com Linux Gurus. Each of the guru's will receive invitations to this year's 4th annual Linux Foundation Collaboration Summit and the Ultimate Guru has received a Linux laptop signed by Linus Torvalds

Google’s Android code will assume its rightful place in the Linux kernel — in good time, the company’s top open source guru says. The Android code was stripped out of the last kernel release, version 2.6.33, after Google reportedly failed to provide necessary changes and subsystem code required by kernel.org.

Google open source guru Chris DiBona says that the web giant continues to ban the lightning-rod AGPL open source license within the company because doing so "saves engineering time" and because most AGPL projects are of no use to the company.
