Regarding the compliance of M$IE 8:

Me: I agree that the vendor lock-in is very difficult and ineffective to unlock even for the vendor that made it initially, but in the end why do I have to share the burden of other's (Microsoft) mistakes?
Actually there is one single right way to deal with this: switch to a better browser: Firefox, Konqueror, Epiphany, Opera (proprietary, but very standards compliant)
