Linux Foundation launches individual membership drive

The scheme costs $99 (£63) for an annual individual membership and includes some voting rights, an @linux.com email address, discounts on Foundation conferences and O'Reilly books and a Linux Foundation T-shirt.

Bradley Kuhn joins the FSF board

When Bradley started working at the Free Software Foundation in September 2001, it was to join a team that then-executive director was putting together. It was a period of transition for the FSF. When he left the FSF in 2005 much of that agenda had been achieved, and he joined FSF legal counsel Eben Moglen and Dan Ravicher to set up the Software Freedom Law Center.

Linux Foundation Rolls Out New Member Benefits

The Linux Foundation rolls out some new member benefits this week, along with a membership classification just for students. Though there were already a ton of cool membership perks to begin wtih, new access to employee purchase pricing on products from HP, Dell, and Lenovo is a really terrific addition to the list.

Could the Linux Foundation get too big?

The folks over at the Linux Foundation were happy to announce today that MIPS Technologies has joined the group. Fair enough. But this got me wondering whether it’s possible for the Linux Foundation to get too big. Oracle is already a platinum member, Cisco a gold, Dell a silver. What if Microsoft wanted in? Or Apple?
