Microsoft pays star writers to recite slogan
John Battelle's ad network has roped in some of its star writers to an ad campaign on behalf of Microsoft's "people-ready" catchphrase. In the ads, and the companion site built by Federated Media, Michael Arrington explains how his Techcrunch site became "people-ready". "When is a business people ready?" asks Gigaom's Om Malik.

Linux community divided on Microsoft deals
Sonty added that he thinks Microsoft "is lining up partners to go against" Red Hat and Ubuntu, which he sees as the company's biggest threats in the Linux camp. "The battle is just beginning," he wrote. "We don't know what is underneath the iceberg yet."
If you ask me, the title should be "They would love the community to be divided over Microsoft deals"

Struggling Linux Distributors Find Profitable New Product: Anti-Linux FUD
Fear, uncertainty, and doubt require money to exist and to be spread. When Shane wrote about the economics of FUD he was not necessarily referring to one’s ability to buy FUD from Linux companies. CEO of Mandriva: We will not go to Canossa - No deal with Microsoft
Novell, Xandros and Linspire have signed well publicized agreements with Microsoft. Rumors on the Web have hinted that Mandriva might be next on the list. Mandriva believes in interoperability, which must be based on open standards, like ODF. They also believe that software patent threats are just FUD. So no deal with Microsoft from Mandriva.
