Windows = Antivirus = Pollution?
But, man.... I just couldn't resist the temptation of asking myself "... then how much power is spent on Windows implementing DRM protection mechanisms?". It has been disputed that it be a lot of energy to implement DRM mechanisms. It has been argued that this is not too much of an effort... that DRM in Vista is rougly a couple of LOC on the whole system. I just couldn't care less about it..

Could the Linux Foundation get too big?
The folks over at the Linux Foundation were happy to announce today that MIPS Technologies has joined the group. Fair enough. But this got me wondering whether it’s possible for the Linux Foundation to get too big. Oracle is already a platinum member, Cisco a gold, Dell a silver. What if Microsoft wanted in? Or Apple?

Some people want better statistics about how many GNU/Linux users there are. Some suggest a kind of phone-home function (horror!). A better approach would be to get deliberately counted. That is what counter.li.org is for.
The exact number will never be known and that is good.
