NetworkManager: Ubuntu 8.04 to 8.10 upgrade breaks it
Yep, I used wireless to upgrade from Ubunttu 8.04 to 8.10 and finally 9.04, and NetworkManager lost control of my wired Ethernet interface in the transition from 8.04 to 8.10. I did manage to find a fix very quickly, and I can confirm that it does indeed work.

User Agent Switcher keeps Ubuntu usable at College
To me this inconsistency is a true sign that computer discrimination and software profiling not only exists but should be a very big concern for all of us. There is no other reason that the Pearson system works with a Linux operating system sporting Firefox except for their Microsoft based computer course which they claim doesn't work with anything but Microsoft which is actually untrue.

Kahel Linux: Yet Another Philippine-made Distro
A proof that Linux on the desktop is very much alive and is growing in popularity here in the Philippines is the birth of yet another distro named Kahel. In English, the word "kahel" means orange, which explains the orange t-shirt, beak, and feet of its Tux mascot found on the distro logo.
