"Mozilla's WebRunner is a single-serving version of Firefox that strips away all the bells and whistles. There's no Web surfing to be done with this lightweight tool. Menus, extensions, themes, toolbars and navigation have all been excised, like a sculptor cutting away excess marble..."

Is it too little too late for Gmail?
It appears that Google has underestimated the desire for storage with free webmail services, while the competition (Windows Live Hotmail and Yahoo) have grasped the issue and are upping capacity. The Google response has been to dribble a little extra into the free Gmail service, while charging up to $500 a year of you want more.

Must-have open source applications for writers

Olive Bazaar - a GTK GUI
Well, no, not a food olive bazaar (though that would be tasty), but rather Olive, a GTK GUI for Bazaar, a version control system similar to GIT and Subversion. The simplest DVR is Linux, and thats no myth!
Now that I have the ultimate television card I wanted to do something to capture the moment when the bad guy's gloating turns to gloom when the hero escapes so I had a look at a couple of DVR programs. Small Linux Distros For Every Occasion
One of the (very many) areas in which Linux has pulled ahead of the pack is with live, complete Linux distributions on every form of removable media. Tiny Linuxes to full-blow kitchen sink Linuxes boot and run from USB sticks and drives, Compact Flash cards, CDs and DVDs; so they never need to touch the hard drive, or even have a hard drive present. Some of them run entirely in memory.
