"GNU ed is a line-oriented text editor. It is used to create, display, modify and otherwise manipulate text files, both interactively and via shell scripts. A restricted version of ed, red, can only edit files in the current directory and cannot execute shell commands. Ed is the "standard" text editor in the sense that it is the original editor for Unix, and thus widely available.

Today we have hundreds of distributions out available. Ubuntu, Fedora, openSUSE, Debian and many more. Many of them are based of each other. Ubuntu for instance is based on Debian, while OpenSUSE is based on Fedora. Despite the fact that they are all under the name of "Linux", most of these Operating Systems are leading their own development.

as far as I can see from the bug tracking system... I started
implement most of the features requested there and 3 days later

To make room for all this stuff, Ultimate Edition is distributed on a DVD, rather than a CD. That said, at only 1.3GB, Ultimate Edition is one of the smalled DVD distros.
