How to set up Compiz Fusion 0.7.4

This guide has specifically been written for the latest version of Compiz and Compiz Fusion, which can be found in e.g. Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron. Although this guides mentions the default options in Hardy from time to time, it is mostly distribution-independent and you should be able to use it on every Linux install.

Building a Linux digital picture frame, part 1

Last year I bought both of the Linux Toys books. One of the projects inside that caught my eye was the digital picture frame. I'd just been in an unnamed large department store where I saw a picture frame that would be perfect for this kind of a project - the catch was I didn't have the "spare" notebook required by the project.

Configuration Mania aids access to some Firefox settings

Hardy Heron: Best Distro Ever?

It was with great anticipation that I downloaded Hardy Heron to install on my notebook. As is my usual custom, I downloaded the alternate install CD from the mirror and burned it, then booted from it. I won't go into the steps of the install as most Linux users know how this works.
