Maximum Wait for MinWin, Windows 7.0

http://techiqmag.com

The circle of life continues at Microsoft. The software giant, desperate to freeze a market, has started evangelizing a “new” version of Windows (called MinWin) that will correct Windows Vista’s bloatware problems. But don’t blame Microsoft for the noise about MinWin and Windows 7.0... (due in 2010 supposedly)

MySQL IPO May Rain on Redmond's Parade

http://www.linuxinsider.com

It probably won't slow the amazing growth of Microsoft's SQL Server database, a cornerstone of the company's earnings in recent years. However, a quirky Swedish company with a big Seattle presence may steal a bit of the limelight when Microsoft's new database is released next spring.

Intel, Microsoft Parting Ways Means "WinTel" Demise

http://www.x86watch.com

While Intel appears to be moving toward a future of more efficient, higher-performance technology, Microsoft, alas, appears bent on the exact opposite. This will inevitably lead to the decoupling of the seemingly-omnipotent WinTel duopoly that has reigned almost unchallenged for two decades. Their paths diverge more every year. Intel continues to build smaller, faster chips.
