I often see Linux users complain their wireless network card doesn’t work on Linux at the forums,indeed , some wireless network cards can’t work/work well on Linux. Auto-NDISwrapper would be one of the solutions for those complaints.

Mac lovers hurting the Linux desktop?
Umm...I don't think the Linux desktop faces any real threat from a group of developers advocating for change. I'm not sure a group of Mac fans could possibly do the Linux desktop more harm than it has done to itself. The Linux desktop is already in serious jeopardy, and it has nothing to do with which developer kit people use to build it, or changes to Gtk+. Miguel de Icaza disagrees:

Piracy and Malware - Pfft!
A frequent meme in piracy trash talking is that piracy is linked to malware (example). If your child is downloading pirated material (so the argument goes) they will be downloading it from a malware infected site and infecting their own computer resulting in poor performance, data loss and ID theft. A variant of this argument is that the downloads expose the kids to evil pornographers.
