Vyatta - a fortnight in review
Someone on this blog pointed me at vyatta, and to that person - THANK YOU! I have now tried Vyatta, not only have I tried it I have fallen in love with it. In a nutshell Vyatta is a fantastic mangment layer on top of Debian, OpenVPN, iptables, Quagga, Snort and OpenSWAN amongst others.

Long-haul radio offers open Linux platform
Satel announced a "smart radio modem" for long-distance industrial radio communications networks, combining TCP/IP functionality with a Linux development platform. The Satellar Digital System is based on an ARM9 processor, offers a modular design, and has a range of over 10 to 20 kilometers, says Satel.

My Notebook Hates KDE
I am not a Desktop Environment (DE) fanboy, I use Gnome because it's the default DE on Ubuntu. After a while I knew about other major DE : XFCE and KDE. I use XFCE on my older PC. From what I learned DEs have their own strength and weakness. The best thing about Linux is you don't have to choose, you can have best of both worlds. Last night I gave KDE a shot on my notebook, an hp 540.
