Dell posts customised Chromium OS for Mini 10v netbook
Dell Technology Strategist Doug Anson has announced that, after "doing some tinkering", he has gotten Dell's Mini 10v netbook working with Google's Chromium OS, the open source branch of the Chrome OS. In a post on the Direct2Dell Blog, Anson says that "Without a network connection, Chromium OS is not very interesting. With a network connection, Chromium OS shines."

Dell sows 'experimental' Chrome OS for Mini netbooks

Google Chrome OS: a threat to Windows 7?
It's interesting, for sure, but Google Chrome OS as a game changer? No way! Everything from assuming people will want another Apple-alike 'buy the hardware to get the OS' model to thinking the average user is ready to surrender a PC paradigm for a cloud-based existence is wide of the mark. Pegatron's Ubuntu-equipped netbook spotted in the wild
It's not shocking that we're super tantalized by the prospect of yet another netbook flooding the oversaturated market in the near term. The sub-$200 price point that's being floated about definitely has us interested, though the Ubuntu operating system is likely to fend off any non-adventurous would-be buyers.
