Xena is free and open source software developed by the National Archives of Australia to aid in the long term preservation of digital records. Xena is an acronym meaning 'Xml Electronic Normalising for Archives'.

BitTorrent Admin Monitored by US Government, Forced to Dump GNU/Linux
Sk0t, an ex-administrator of the EliteTorrents BitTorrent tracker is to have his internet connection forcibly monitored by the US Government. If that wasn’t bad enough, the monitoring software is Windows based - which means he is being forced to ditch Linux - or face being barred from the internet.

Still waiting for swap prefetch
It has been almost two years since LWN covered the swap prefetch patch. This work, done by Con Kolivas, is based on the idea that if a system is idle, and it has pushed user data out to swap, perhaps it should spend a little time speculatively fetching that swapped data back into any free memory that might be sitting around.

According to this story, the Allahabad High Court has rolled out a new website, as well as deploying 15,000 laptops running GNU/Linux. The site does not specify which distribution, but I am assuming a GNOME-centric distribution, since Evolution is listed as the PIM software.
