VirtualBox: Installation on Debian Lenny
I have used virtualization in many different forms, OpenVZ, Xen, VMWare, for a number of years with great success. One thing I have been interested in doing is moving away from all applications that are not OpenSource. So finding a good solution for the Desktop virtualization has been a process.

Steady march to CrossOver 8.0 builds for OpenSolaris and FreeBSD
We've been making good progress towards CrossOver 8.0. In fact, we are feeling confident enough about our progress that we put out a public release of the first beta. Additionally, I'm happy to say that we've leveraged Francois Gouget's hard work, along with a lot of work from the broader community, and have put out unsupported builds for FreeBSD and OpenSolaris.

KDE 4.2: Finally a new Linux desktop I can like
I won't rehash my feelings about earlier versions of KDE. Suffice it to say I didn't like it and you can review my comments about KDE 4.0 and KDE 4.1 elsewhere. At first glance, I also wasn't impressed with KDE 4.2, but I decided to give it one more try, after some performance fixes in the latest edition, and I'm finally impressed.

Installing Ubuntu 9.04 on the Eee PC 901
The Eee PC 901 is an Intel Atom-based laptop, with 1 GB of RAM, a 20 GB SSD, a 9 inch display, and ships with Asus' own Linux distribution. Since I bought mine, I've installed and used Ubuntu 8.10 and 8.04. The new Ubuntu 9.04 finally has full support for the Eee PC 901.
