I'm sure this was expected. Novell opposes SCO's Trustee's Motion for PostPetition Financing to essentially have Ralph Yarro and unnamed others provide SCO a loan to keep the corpse breathing long enough to make it through trial, I suppose, and I expect we may see more oppositions filed...

Lots of bankruptcy filings, including a reply by SUSE in support of its motion for relief from the automatic stay and Chapter 11 Trustee Edward Cahn has filed an Objection to Al Petrofsky's motion to compel him to comply with reporting requirements. And Ocean Park Advisors has filed an Amended Exhibit A. But that isn't the big news.

SCO's Chapter 11 Trustee Edward Cahn not only proposes to let Ralph Yarro "loan" some money to the company at what Novell calls egregiously inequitable terms -- inequitable to everyone but Ralph Yarro and the gang, that is -- but now he proposes to sell SCO's "mobility business", which not long ago SCO said was worth millions, if I recall correctly...

You've never read anything like this, not in the entire history of the SCO saga. The picture is getting darker.

The agenda for the hearing on Wednesday in the SCO bankruptcy is now available. It's SUSE's motion to lift the stay that will be argued and the Petrofsky motion to compel, and maybe some uncontested housekeeping issues. So this is one hearing not to miss, if any of you can attend. It begins at 10 AM. Same place. The usual suspects.

SCO has filed its monthly operating reports for March. This the month they did the deal with Ralph Yarro, so we find out what they did first with that loan money. Pay themselves, of course, and their lawyers. And one of their experts.

In the dispute between the SCO Group and Novell about the copyright for Unix, the new jury trial scheduled to begin on the 8th of March is apparently set to go ahead: according to a statement by Chapter 11 trustee Edward Cahn, SCO's majority owner Ralph Yarro wants to inject a loan of $2 million dollars into the financially stricken company.

Believe it or not, here's our first report from today's bankruptcy hearing:The bottom line is that Judge Gross found that the terms of the proposed loan are "fair, reasonable & adequate." He then signed the order. SCO plans to close on the deal on Monday

The hearing on Novell's objection to the leases was today, and Groklaw had two observers there. The outcome was that SCO's leases were approved. Novell no longer objected to the Utah lease, because now they see the terms, and probably also because that's the one that is for only one year. That left the New Jersey lease, the one that will last until 2010.
