This should help us follow what is happening with the many motions in limine and motions for Daubert hearings in SCO v. Novell: a chart showing each motion, the memorandum in opposition, and the judge's order.

Well, well...IBM and Novell have each filed motions in the SCO bankruptcy to convert the SCO Chapter 11 cases to Chapter 7. That makes three such motions. Here's the US Trustee's motion, if you are new. We're working on text versions.

I thought it would be fun to carefully respond to each inaccurate or misleading statement we see in SCO's Response [PDF] to the motions to convert or dismiss The US Trustee's Office, Novell and SUSE, and IBM all filed such motions in the SCO Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and there will be a hearing on the motions on June 15th. I hope some of you plan to attend.

Can you believe there's more? Five more, to be exact. SCO has filed two more oppositions to Novell's motions in limine, specifically their motion to exclude testimony from Ed Chatlos, Burt Levine, Kim Madsen, and Doug Michels, and they also filed their opposition to Novell's motions for Daubert hearings to disqualify SCO's experts Christine Botosan, Dr. Gary Pisano, and G.

Judge Ted Stewart has denied all three Novell motions for Daubert hearings. In essence, he says, let the jury decide. Novell can cross-examine them to highlight any flaws.

Edward Cahn, SCO's appointed Chapter 11 Trustee, now making decisions for SCO, has filed an opposition to SUSE's request to lift the bankruptcy stay so the arbitration can go forward.

It's a plot, I tell you! The parties in SCO v. Novell are trying to cause me to lose my beauty sleep. Before I can finish doing the text of one filing, they file 25 more. Literally. They have filed between them 25 memoranda in opposition to the others' motions in limine. Say. They have finally hit on the way to shut Groklaw up. Just keep filing documents until I give up and go to sleep.

SCO, "by and through the Chapter 11 Trustee in Bankruptcy, Edward N. Cahn", has filed its opposition to Novell's Motion to Set Aside Judgment. This is the motion that will be argued on February 4. SCO argues that if Novell wanted to argue this, they should have appealed it, and that's a strong argument...
