Free software adoption here

Free software adoption here in the states for education is pretty pathetic. They're teaching kids that that a "computer = Windows" and that Office is the only solution for writing papers. Dedicating classes to making people dependent on proprietary software really needs to stop. I'd really love to see more school switching to GNU/Linux or at least teaching them to use free software in Windows instead of proprietary software.
