Free and open source software is all about sharing so, prompted by a reader who emailed me last week to ask about books on Linux, I spent some time over the weekend doing research. The result is a short list of books that users - from newbies to gurus - can download and read at their leisure.

I learned a little from my dalliances with Apple products. I learned a lot from PCs running DOS and Windows. I've learned the most about computers from Linux.

Sure, I learned how to use new types of software, became efficient on them, and honed my programming skills, but stopping there would be missing the point. As a long time user of Linux, and reader of Linux Magazines, Websites and Blogs, many see the current Linux situation as being a dawn of a new horizon. Essentially the release of the EEE PC, the timely release of Vista and Ubuntu have all kick started the “Linux Revolution” for the Linux desktop.

In part 1 I covered some great examples of things I've learned while trying to share Open Source with those around me in school. In this part I'll be going over some of the things I've learned about evangelizing Linux to others around me.
