Nokia released version 4.6.3 of the Qt cross-platform application and UI framework. Qt 4.6.3 brings bugfixes and optimizations made based on feedback received from Qt users since the release of Qt 4.6.2. Also released is an updated version of the Qt Visual Studio Add-in.

It is an alternative to Google Analytics and from my experience, better in many respects. The latest version, released just today June 1 2012, is Piwik 1.8, and it comes with its share of new and improved features and bugfixes.

This release is rated critical, so if you are running Piwik 1.7.1, the previous stable version, immediate upgrade is highly recommended.

KDE continues to release updates for the 4.0 desktop on a monthly basis. Version 4.0.4 comes with several bugfixes and performance improvements. KDE 4.1, which will bring large improvements to the KDE desktop and applications will be released in July this year.

GNOME 2.28 is released now, just a week after the release of the release candidate. This release includes several bugfixes & enhancements for included components.

Open source word processing program AbiWord has a new release this week that sports several new features and a slew of bugfixes. AbiWord, long overshadowed by OpenOffice.org, is a fine multi-platform application in its own right and the new goodies in version 2.8.0 bring even more to the table.

After changing its stable release policy to a more accelerated pace, Mozilla released Firefox 5 pretty quick after the latest major Firefox version was put out. Firefox 4 was released on March 22, 2011 and this version follows only three months later. Here’s an announcement on the Mozilla Blog website.
