We need to give ATI some bad press. Unlike NVIDIA, they refuse to provide driver support for GNU/Linux. They can't continue to get away with this: Many Windows users are starting to want GNU/Linux compatible hardware, because they have "the switch" in mind.

The keynote speech touched on Open-source, innovation, OLPC, and collaboration between RedHat and AMD and AMD and open source. He said some were concerned about what intellectual property would be lost by opening their hardware but he was thinking about what AMD had to gain by opening. The commitment was made at about 17:45 in playback.
