There are one main killing reason not to use Mint: it contains huge quantity of non-free software. Imho, people take Ubuntu, installed many many non-free apps (like patented multimedia codecs (rejected by freedom respecting ubuntoers), closed hardware drivers (nvidia for example), afaik closed Adobe Flash and Skype) and call it another name. It is totally user's freedom destructive distributive. Imho for simple Windows-haters, that do not know nothing about open-source or free software movements.
