Inappropriate Google ads

I notice the Google ad here is for "microsoft office accounting professional 2008". The enticement to download a "free" trial (that's free as in binaries only) is particularly inappropriate in the context of free software.

The main reason I havn't used ads on my blog, apart from that I wouldn't make much money out of them, is that they may advertise companies or products that I wouldn't personally wish to endorse.

Provide more info to staff AT fsdaily DOT com

If you provide us with the domain name for the ad we can block it.

It is a shame that free software projects don't have much if anything in the way of advertising budgets and that companies with money who are pro-foss don't outbid proprietary software companies on adsense or buy advertising directly from us. The pro-foss companies also don't consider us important enough yet to reply when we ask them to support us by buying advertising on FSDaily. It's also unfortunate that we need the funding we get from ads to continue.

If there comes a time when we can exist without advertising, or, if we become big enough to choose who advertises with us, then we will ensure that no proprietary companies or products will be displayed on FSDaily.

In the mean time, you can report specific domain names to us and we will block them. And you can always try and help us get bigger so we can get to the stage where we can pick and choose sooner.
