Adobe has released Flash Player 10 Beta 2 (10.0.0.525) for Linux. On top of features from Beta 1, this Flash 10 release adds windowless mode (transparency and page elements on top of a Flash applet), better Linux webcam support, new languages, and speed/stability improvements.

These new capabilities also empower the community to extend Flash Player and to take creativity and interactivity to a new level.

Gnash is an open source player for Adobe’s Flash format. It can be used as an alternative to Adobe’s proprietary player. The upcoming Ubuntu 7.10 release includes automatic installation of either Adobe Flash or Gnash. I decided to put this feature to the test in Ubuntu 7.10 Beta.

Adobe has just released a beta of Flash Player 11, which includes native 64 bit clients. This is big news for Linux users, who are easily some of the most enthuastic adopters of 64 bit operating systems, and who may have been feeling a little left out after Adobe dumped AIR for Linux.
