(DFSG-)free content?

The problem with osalt and many other of these databases seem to be that they are not DFSG-free can not be included in e.g. debian. It would be really useful if a user could have offline copy of the database and every time he/she did a query in a package management program for a proprietary app he/she would be given a list of possible free replacements. Wouldn't this sound useful?
