About 20 years ago (shudder) I would often spend a Sunday afternoon playing Spectrum and Amstrad games with my good mate Keith. There was a small selection of games we'd play pretty often including some of the Julian Gollup games - Rebelstar, Rebelstar Raiders, Laser Squad and so on.
I wanted to take a few minutes and share a couple of games that I enjoy quite often. I've never been one for the shoot-em-up games, rather I prefer games that put my brain to work solving problems. There is no denying the huge selection of open source games available for Linux. Playing through all of these games would entertain many gamers for years. If Linux is ever going to usurp the desktop market, it needs a regular source of native high quality games that rival commercial games available on Windows.
