But the big news here is that the uncertainty over Linux is no more. Linux is now legally legitimate and free from the worrisome cloud of legal exposure that existed for the previous four years. Suddenly, using Linux isn't troublesome anymore, at least from a legal standpoint.

An iPhone port of GNU Go is currently being distributed through Apple's App Store. However, this distribution is not in compliance with the GNU GPL. The primary problem is that Apple imposes numerous legal restrictions on use and distribution of GNU Go through the iTunes Store Terms of Service, which is forbidden by section 6 of GPLv2.

Another legal attack against Free software comes in the form of a threat (issued against Sandy3D) and Apple's reason for suing Android seems like gradual iPhone defeat (Linux is winning)

In terms of market share, Free software beats Apple (especially thanks to poorer regions where Microsoft too is struggling to win)

Free Software Movement launched the Windows7sins site. This was just days before Apple released its Snow Leopard OS, prompting a lot of criticisms from some corners of the blogosphere that the FSF is giving Apple a free ride. I simply disagree.

Apple has always been very protective over their proprietary software. The company doesn't want anything but iTunes to control an iPod - and for good reason, too.
