HOW TO INSTALL GOOGLE CHROME OS: Do you want to install Google's very own operating system called Chrome OS? If yes, then just follow the following (very easy) steps on installing the Chrome OS on virtual machine.
The Chromium Daily Builds PPA has been keeping me up to date with the latest version of Chromium, the open source browser behind Google Chrome. Google recently released the first official Google Chrome for Linux beta. When I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 9.10, I switched from Chromium to the Chrome beta.
The Linux version of Google’s Chrome web browser is not ready yet. Don’t boot up Windows, if you’re interested in testing it out it’s possible to do so by running Chrome under Wine.
This is something I have never heard of. I was trying to install Google Chrome in Ubuntu and in the download page a small note came into my notice. It goes something like this "Installing Google Chrome will add the Google repository so your system will automatically keep Google Chrome up to date".
Trying to install Google-Chrome via RPM (with rpm2tgz) will give you an error with libnss3. Don’t fret, there is already a way to build Google-Chrome without much effort. Below is a quick way using the mirror from Penn State (carroll), but if you have your install media, you can find the same files there in /extra.
The big news of the week: Google Chrome OS is out in the wild. Sort of. If you're willing to roll up your sleeves a bit and do some work, you can get your hands on Google Chrome OS, but it's not quite ready for everybody just yet.
A few weeks ago, Google announced that Chrome OS will be ready for release this fall. Like many Google products, Chrome OS is designed to be a game changer. There are no desktop applications, as we typically think of them. Instead, the entire user experience happens within the browser. Naturally, some people think this is ridiculous while others see it as the natural evolution of technology.
It's interesting, for sure, but Google Chrome OS as a game changer? No way! Everything from assuming people will want another Apple-alike 'buy the hardware to get the OS' model to thinking the average user is ready to surrender a PC paradigm for a cloud-based existence is wide of the mark. Google would appear to have got this one about as wrong as it got Google Answers or Google Lively.
We have already discussed how to install google chrome using wine .Chromium is an open-source browser project that aims to build a safer, faster, and more stable way for all Internet users to experience the web. The Chromium codebase is the basis for Google’s Chrome browser.
