The third Release Candidate build for Firefox 3.5 is on its way. Mozilla repeatedly stressed during the development process of the next iteration of its open source browser that it was aiming to produce a single RC for Firefox 3.5. And fact is that it came extremely close to doing so.

According to the roadmap for the open source browser, the Mozilla developers plan to launch the next major Firefox release in October or November 2010. Around the same time, Mozilla plans to release version 2 of its Fennec smartphone browser.

With a release candidate of Firefox 3 upon us and the final version set to drop sometime in June, I'm finding myself a bit torn: Do I upgrade to FF3 once it's fully baked, or stay with my current browser?

Previews of Firefox 3.7, which will in time become 4.0, are now available. Continuing with the analysis of the Firefox 3.0 browser, I take a look at some of the features and facts that aren’t really that great and add very little to the new browser. I also observe some of the shortcomings of Firefox and take note of some of the bad press surrounding it.

Firefox is my favorite browser. It is fast, stable and extensible. It is also quite safe. And it looks good, too. Finally, you may also have heard that Firefox 3.1, the latest version of this phenomenal browser.

Thanks to its extensibility, Firefox quickly became the favorite browser for most power users. But while extensions are a great way to make Firefox more functional, Mozilla's designers are also currently thinking about a complete redesign of the way the browser looks and feels, in order to keep up with changing usage patterns.
