Historic sub-note
I was intrigued by the claim on this page that;
Linux is a trademark of Linus Torvalds
I hadn't heard this claim before. A quick check revealed that an enterprising(???) lawyer had attempted to register the Linux name, in 1996, so he could earn royalties from GNU/Linux users without having to do any useful work.
