Recent articles I have read by people complaining about how things on Linux do not work like they do on Microsoft led me to coin the phrase Microsoft Trained Brain Syndrome (MTBS). The problem is that people who have lived, worked, and played in a homogeneous Microsoft computing paradigm are lost and confused when they encounter a different paradigm.

Well, KDE4 was announced and there was much joy. Betas were released and there was much bitching. KDE4.0.0 was released and there again was much joy (and still a little bitching). More importantly an actual honest to goodness Windows port is released.

One of the things that many people buying new computer or other hardware consider is the hardware compatibility with GNU/Linux. Actually many people do not even think about that. They just go to the shop, buy something that they liked and after that go home and install some distribution.

Tracks is an Open Source GTD(Getting Things Done) program. Speaking personally, I'm a huge fan of Dave Allen's book - the GTD system and way of thinking has made me far more productive and effective. More importantly I feel so much more in control - no more worrying! GTD really requires some programs to allow you to use it - Tracks has worked very well for us.

Sometimes I sit back and wonder about the direction technology has taken, especially with regards to operating systems. I think back to my Apple days and even when I got my first PC running MS-DOS with Microsoft Windows 3.11. Obviously, some of you can go even further back in history while others not far at all.

To many people, the move from Windows to Mac and O SX might seem very odd indeed. To them, Linux would seem a better choice. Personally, I get along fine with *nix. I first used it in the Berkeley flavor in 1981, at Berkeley, as a matter of fact. I have used it on and off ever since, on a variety of platforms and in a number of flavors.

Linux Operating System has been myth for many of the people out there.. Most of the people has wrong inception regarding Linux. Those who dare to make the transition get caught in the partition or they failed to understand the Basics of Linux. “The applications and the OS itself” . Its pretty natural for a Mediocre user to get used to different terms at once..
