After my last post about who uses Linux and really prefers to stick with it, I received a remarkable number of comments from people who'd not only tried it and stuck with it, but had taken as many other people as they could with them. That got me thinking: What's the best way to evangelize Linux?

Teach people the benefits of freedom
Teach people the benefits of freedom and why we should reject software subjugation. Of course to do this, you'd need to have a pretty good understanding of what these things are. The point of free software is so that we have the liberty to have full control of our machines (full rights to modify the software that runs our machines) as well as the liberty to help others by sharing software with them.
