LinuxWorld is planning a good old-fashioned install-fest for their San Francisco conference. And if you have an old PC or can bluff your way through an Ubuntu install, you're invited to participate. More information at Untangle's site, who is sponsoring the event.

Mandriva is co-ordinating an international Install Fest for the new Mandriva Linux 2009 release, on November 22nd, 2008. If you are involved with a LUG or other community group and would be interested in running a local event as part of the Install Fest, Mandriva will provide professionally pressed One CDs and other material.

Thousands of the Linux faithful will converge on San Francisco's Moscone Center next week (Aug. 4-7) for the LinuxWorld conference and expo and the accompanying Next Generation Data Center show. It’s a long way from Florida to Ontario, but it was totally worth it. Spent this weekend in Toronto to attend the Ontario Linux Fest for the first time. It was a smallish show, but the level of enthusiasm was enormous.
