Mozilla Corp. today announced the winners of its third “Extend Firefox” contest, an annual competition that recognizes the year’s best Firefox add-ons.

This year’s contest, which launched in March and brought in more than 100 entries, focused on add-ons that took advantage of Mozilla’s newest open-source browser, Firefox 3.0.

We are pleased to announce the winners of the 2011 Tux Paint Summer Contest. We thank all the participants for thier entries. We must admit, judging was extremely difficult so we decided to add an additional 10 winners who will each get a Tux Paint t-shirt.

Here are the results of the contest Mandriva launched one month ago. This contest was a big success. We received 842 photos. We had to pick 10 photos, choice was really hard. Here are below the 10 winners.

A tweaked graphics interface, a tagging tool and an extension that provides relevant keywords for associating with bookmarked sites have been named the best new add-ons for Firefox 3.0, following a contest set up by open-source browser developer Mozilla.

The world biggest Open Source contest, the Le Trophees Du Libre 2007, with over 60,000 Euro in prizes named the winners for each of the categories. The goal of the contest, which is sponsored by the Free SOftware Foundation, Cetril, the EU, IBM and numerous other sponsors, is to promote promising Free Open Source Software.

Although Firefox 3.5 (formerly Firefox 3.1) is still in beta, Mozilla is already developing Firefox 3.6 code-named Namoroka. Slated for an early-to-mid 2010 release, the browser will be marketed as Firefox.next (FX) moniker in a nod to new technologies set to take Firefox to the next level.

Firefox 3 developers are taking all the time that they need to accomplish their new Firefox. After the Beta 1 Mozilla has released Firefox 3 beta 2 to get more feedbacks about bugs from its testing community. Bugzilla was a little bit busy lately since the beta 1 thousands of bugs fortunately 900 of them are fixed. Firefox developers are trying to reveal more bugs to make their Firefox 3 better. The Beta 2 features are very promising and the Firefox 3 will definitely beat all competitors.
